Thick linen shirt, icon piece of workers nobility. Comfort, versatility, unisex, one size fits all… one of those basics that you don’t take off… that can be exchanged, shared, etc.
With this shirt the project started …
The repercussion of material vs. human labor has completely changed during the last hundred years. Traditionally material had a higher impact in terms of cost in a final product. This influenced the design in modest traditional clothing avoiding the use of the curve in the basic patterns to achieve zero waste. In this shirt, the sleeve is made by a rectangular main piece and a square piece to compensate for the lack of the curve that fits the shoulder in a shirt. This technique is being used in traditional and folkloric clothes all around Europe. Maybe this wouldn’t be the most detail oriented piece in your closet but for sure will be the one with the most honest, sustainable and conscious origen.
(En la cereria in love with it!)
